Application Arrangements

Evington Valley Primary School has a Pupil Admission Number of 45.

FS2, KS1 and KS2 Applications

Leicester City Council Children & Young People’s Services is the admissions authority for FS2, KS1 and KS2 pupils for Evington Valley Primary. The LA provides a booklet each year with guidance and a timetable for the process.  If you wish to enquire about a place in Foundation Stage 2 - Year 6, please ring School Admissions on 0116 4541009 (Option 1)

FS1 Applications

The Governing Body of Evington Valley Primary is the admissions authority for FS1 pupils. The school holds a list of names of pupils whose parents express an interest in their child attending Evington Valley Primary’s FS1 unit.

All three and four year olds are entitled to 15 hours of free nursery education for 38 weeks of the year. This applies until they reach compulsory school age (the term following their fifth birthday).

We encourage parents to express their interest in our FS1 Unit at Evington Valley Primary School as early as possible by registering their child following the child’s second birthday. Please ring the School Office, preferably on a Monday or Tuesday, to speak with the Attendance & Welfare Officer. You will be asked to provide details of your child’s name, date of birth, home address and telephone contact number/s; any additional learning or medical needs.

For children born between 1st September 2018 and 31st August 2019, Evington Valley can offer a free part-time place for 3 hours per day (either morning or afternoon) in Foundation Stage 1 from September 2022.

All children on the school’s waiting list will be emailed an application form and a copy of the Admissions policy week beginning Monday 17th January 2022

Application forms to be completed and emailed to office@evingtonvalley.leicester.sch.uk by Friday 4th March 2022.

Application forms reviewed and assessed. If the PAN is exceeded, the over subscription criteria (see below) will be applied.

Over subscription Criteria

1. Pupils who are in the care of a local authority
2. Pupils who are on the Child Protection Register and need to attend an alternative school to avoid the abuser.
3. Pupils who live in the priority area (see Appendix 1) with a sibling who will be attending the same school at the same time.
4. Pupils who live out of priority area but with a sibling who will be attending the same school at the same time.
5. Pupils who live in the priority area for the school.
6. Pupils who live nearest to the school

Parents are informed of the outcome week beginning Monday 21st March 2022

Please note, entry into FS1 at Evington Valley Primary does not guarantee entry into F2 at Evington Valley Primary.

Where the above process has resulted in places still being available, the following procedure will apply. The school’s waiting list will be reviewed and those children who are eligible for a funded nursery place will be offered a place on a strictly oldest first basis until all available places are filled. This may happen at three points during the year.
