We love reading!
At Evington Valley, we believe that reading is an essential life-skill which is needed to participate fully in the world in which we live. We want books and wider texts to provide children with windows to a range of different places, cultures and periods of history in order to inspire them to seek a range of experiences for themselves.
Reading for pleasure is promoted through various whole school, year group and class activities, such as: My Best Book, Word Wizards, World Book Day activities, 'Drop Everything and Read' and through whole school displays which celebrate favourite class books. Teachers read regularly to all children, from Nursery through to Year 6.
