Volunteering

Evington Valley is always keen to recruit volunteers. We see it as a ‘win-win’ situation - volunteers gain valuable experience, often using this to further their careers, and the children get extra support to help them make rapid progress in their learning.

We have found that the volunteering partnership works best when the volunteer is able to commit to a regular day(s) every week for at least a term. This means that the volunteer can become a valued member of the class and is well known by staff and children.

All volunteers need to have a valid enhanced DBS certificate. If you do not have one already, please apply for your own enhanced DBS certificate (please note that this could take up to 6 weeks and there will be a cost to the applicant).

Should applicants not possess, or have applied for, an enhanced DBS, unfortunately we shall not be able to consider the application further.

We do consider 1 or 2 week placements for work experience or university students where we have the capacity to do so.  However, please note that these will be limited so it is advised that you apply giving as much notice as possible.
