Evington Valley is a friendly and thriving multi-cultural primary school, catering for children between three and eleven years of age. Our school population reflects the rich and diverse cultures living in Leicester and is situated near to the centre of the city in a busy shopping area, close to a mosque and commercial / industrial units.
We consider ourselves to be a caring school in which the pupils are treated as individuals and pupils of all races, cultures and abilities are fully included. The school actively respects and celebrates the heritage of its families and provides a broad and balanced curriculum that is inclusive of all pupils and reflects the society we live in.

The schools most recent Ofsted inspection was in January 2023, when it was confirmed that the school continues to be Good.

As you will see in the Ofsted Report:

  • Pupils enjoy attending this school. They say teachers are kind and always available to help them.
  • Pupils feel safe and happy in the environment teachers and leaders have created at this school.
  • Staff and pupils really do demonstrate the ethos of the school, 'caring and learning together'.
  • Teachers have the highest expectations of pupils. This is both for behaviour and what pupils can achieve academically.

Parent and carers are encouraged to support their child's learning, and are welcome to speak to the class teacher, Headteacher or Attendance & Welfare Officer (on Mondays and Tuesdays) to discuss any matters concerning them. To ensure adequate time is given, we do ask that an appointment is made at the school office.

Ethos & Values

Evington Valley Primary School's vision statement is 'Caring and Learning Together'. We promote high achievement, fairness and equality of opportunity by working with children to:

  • Develop social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing
  • Create a caring and respectful attitude and approach to others and the environment
  • Develop independent and collaborative approaches to learning

We believe that each child will succeed through experiencing quality in:

  • An enriched, stimulating and caring environment
  • An appropriate, broad and challenging curriculum
  • Effective learning partnerships between staff, pupils, parents and the community
  • Motivational teaching and interactive learning

We show that we care for others and care for ourselves when we try hard in our learning.

These are Evington Valley Primary's learning muscles that we use to help our brains to grow!
